ABOUT MIKAL

In his nearly two decades at Leo Burnett, Mikal has been tirelessly building iconic brands that last.

He cut his teeth on “Curiously Strong” Altoids, reintroduced the Firestone brand in the US market, and led one of the most culturally enduring campaigns of our time – Allstate’s “Mayhem.”

But he doesn’t just succeed on big brands. Mikal is also in charge of The Art Institute of Chicago, which he helped achieve international fame overnight by partnering with Airbnb to list a replica of Van Gogh’s bedroom. The result was a 250% increase in ticket sales, and a Grand Prix for Creative Effectiveness at the Cannes Lions.

He is passionate about growing talent and partnering with clients to solve their toughest problems. And although his work has been recognized with top honors at every major international award show, he’s not the kind of guy who would list them all here.

A Virginia Beach native, Mikal and his family live just outside of Chicago, in a house full of instruments and animals.
